Renovation of Tower Park is getting a significant boost with a lead gift from the Samardzija family to renovate the baseball/softball field in the park at Franklin Street and Evans Avenue. The announcement made in May 2016 is the first of many volunteer and private sector announcements and opportunities that will be part of the Valpo Park Foundation Leaders Giving Back Campaign that will support renovation of sports facilities, neighborhood parks and other special venues.

Help support the completion of the Tower Park project. Gifts of $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 will be recognized on gateway columns; gifts of $10,000 will receive special customized recognition.

The Valpo Parks Foundation has a variety of ways for you to be involved in the project. We would appreciate the opportunity to visit with you. Contact Director John Seibert or Director of Development Lisa Kusbel at valpoparks.org or at 219-462-5144 for more information.

The following are other ways to give to the Valpo Parks Foundation:

Cash Gifts

This option is simple, fast and flexible!

Gifts to the Valparaiso Parks Foundation are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Gifts in Honor, Memory, and Special Occasions

Give the gift of parks! Honor giving is a meaningful way to make a gift in "memory of" or in "honor of" a friend or loved one. It also makes a great birthday, anniversary, wedding or graduation gift! The gift of parks is a gift that preserves quality parks and green space for generations to come!

Planned Giving

This gift alternative takes a variety of different forms. As an enduring symbol of your generosity, a bequest supports the changing needs of our Parks for generations. A bequest can be a specific lump sum of money willed to one of the Valparaiso Parks Foundation's endowment funds or your own named endowment fund. It can also take the form of a percentage of your estate or a piece of property. In addition, the Valpo Parks Foundation can be identified as the residual beneficiary of your estate, as the recipient of a specified gift, a contingent beneficiary or as the ultimate recipient of the assets of a charitable remainder trust.

Real Estate

A gift of real estate can be made to the Valpo Parks Foundation while providing the donor with lifetime use of the property. At the time of passing, the property becomes an asset of the Valpo Parks Foundation and is excluded from the donor's estate, which can create significant favorable tax consequences.
